Surrender LPG – Complete Process & Details
Now Surrender LPG Connection from Home; New Portal Launched for PNG Users
PNG users can now surrender their LPG connection from home, without visiting a dealership, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has announced.
The ministry has launched the MyPNG-D Portal to simplify the process for consumers who have switched to piped natural gas (PNG). This new digital platform allows users to give up their LPG connections online using just their registered mobile number or LPG ID.
Confirming the update on X, Neeraj Mittal, Secretary at the ministry, stated that consumers no longer need to visit LPG dealerships.
“PNG consumers can surrender LPG from at home. You don’t need to visit the dealership. Just need you registered mobile or your LPGID,” Mittal said.
Simplifying the Process for a Better Reach
The initiative aims to encourage more consumers to voluntarily surrender their LPG connections. These freed connections can then be provided to households that still lack access to cleaner cooking fuels or PNG.
Mittal noted that 1,797 consumers have already used the new portal to surrender their LPG connections within a day of its launch.
“1797 responsible citizens have surrendered theirs since yesterday! A big thanks to them,” he said, urging others to support the cause.
The government believes this step will improve access to cleaner fuel and ensure better distribution of LPG, especially for those dependent on traditional fuel sources.
